To Publish or Not to Publish

In a world full of harmful explicitness, vandalism, and corrupt internet pages, how can a government shut down one of the most looked to sites of the world...Google Map.
now some might have heard about the recent news article that the new York times has posted up on their internet site. The fact that the Swiss government wants to shut down Google map of their streets, and suburbs.
To respond to that i think that the Swiss government is right in some ways, stating that some number plates of cars, and such were not blurred, or otherwise. Now think of it this way, you just broke up with your boyfriend of a couple months and you broke up with him/her because they proposed to you after the first week. So you walk away from the relationship and suddenly you seeing that person everywhere....why? Because they could track you through Google maps...where you live, where you go, where you work and so on.
But on the other hand the Google maps could be very interesting yet not totally stalkerish. It could help armies coordinate with staff, but of course the U.S. government is not letting them take picture of their camp for security purposes. Okay so you can’t use it for those purposes but you can use it for reasons that I can’t state now (or that I can’t think of now).
Overall the question is if the Google maps is good, and if so why? And if it could actually help us in our every day lives to perform our functional needs.
